Tariff and Budget

Tariff

The RRC's Tariff outlines the rules, rates, and terms under which the RRC operates. It establishes the financial and operational framework for cost recovery. The Tariff also defines key regulatory provisions, such as reliability standards, planning requirements, and compliance mechanisms, ensuring transparency and consistency in the RRC’s role as the Railbelt's Electric Reliability Organization. The RRC's Tariff is subject to approval by the RCA through a public process.

Budget

The RRC is funded through a surcharge paid by the five Railbelt load-serving entities under the Equitable Allocation of Costs Rule (ER13). Each year, the RRC develops its budget in a public setting to determine the total surcharge amount. The latest surcharge is documented on Sheet 26 of the RRC's Tariff. Both the budget development process and the approval of the RRC's Tariff filing with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) are conducted publicly.
